Anti-social behaviour at GWP Skate Park |
||
|
We’ve received reports of a large group of male teenagers gathering around the Great Western Park skate park, engaging in anti-social behaviour (ASB). This has included blocking the road, shouting abuse at passing drivers, and causing intimidation.
We understand how concerning this can be for residents and road users. This type of behaviour may amount to offences under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, where conduct causes harassment, alarm or distress to others. In some circumstances, deliberately blocking the road can also amount to an obstruction offence under the Highways Act 1980.
Officers will carry out patrols in the area as demand allows, and we are working to address the issue proportionately.
What you can do: “ASB” refers to behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress - it may not always seem serious in isolation, but repeated incidents can have a significant impact on the community.
Thank you for your support and for helping us keep Didcot a safe place to live.
